Spring Ahead and Breathe
Ahhh...Daylight Savings Time!
Today, instead of complaining about the loss of an hour of sleep, think about the additional hour of light at the end of the day. The official start of spring is only two weeks away!
Besides changing your clocks, did you remember to change the batteries on your smoke detector too? It is estimated that 95 percent of homes in the United States have at least one smoke detector, yet two thirds of residential fire fatalities occur in homes where there are no smoke alarms, or the alarms are not working.
Check yours today. Your life, and the lives of your loved ones, depend on it.
Today's Dr. Bev'ism:
"As the clocks move forward, remember not to let your life stand still. Use this time to breathe in the wonders of this glorious day and absorb the additional sunlight into your soul. Your new beginning is just around the bend!"

Today is a Gift
Welcome back! Thanks for all the positive feedback!
Several people, who never read my last blog documenting the trials and tribulations of living with a rare disease, asked me to add the link here. I am happy and honored to share it with you:

As an aside, I made my final entry yesterday. I closed that chapter and have moved on!
I now look forward to sharing my inspirational thoughts and quotes with all of you, and appreciate your feedback and friendship!
This blog also is giving me the opportunity to share another passion with you, my photography. I hope you enjoy looking at our beautiful world -- as I see it -- through my camera lens.
Today's Dr. Bev'ism:
"Rejoice...for today is a gift. Grab it tight, and cherish each moment because the next one is uncertain."

A New Beginning
Welcome!
It's been six years since I began writing my first blog, "My Life With Mixed Connective Tissue Disease," documenting my life as a person living life with an incurable autoimmune disease. Today I realized the time has come to say good-bye to the past and start anew!
For the last few years I have been scribing inspirational quotes based on my metaphysical teachings and daily spiritual journey. I have shared many of them within the context of my blog, as well as on numerous Facebook posts and Tweets!
After my diagnosis almost 8 years ago, life for me changed forever. But through my illness and spiritual awakening, I discovered an inner strength within myself that I never knew existed.
I had to rediscover who I was--and then, learn to love myself all over again, despite everything. It took contemplating suicide while lying helplessly in bed, unable to walk or swallow, to accept those things I could not change, and then find new ways to make a difference in the world.
After realizing that life was worth living, I brushed myself off (in-between countless doctor visits and years of chemotherapy treatments) to become an ordained minister, a metaphysician, as well as a certified consulting hypnotist!
Through my blogging experience, I have received emails from hundreds of people all around the world, who have both encouraged and inspired me to continue writing. And, most importantly, to LIVE!
As I share my thoughts with you, please remember that my journey is a spiritual one. I believe a person can be spiritual without being religious. It's about one's personal connection with the divine. Delving into an understanding of spirituality can bring us into divine spiritual wisdom while growing closer into a relationship with a higher power.
My illness physically guided me onto a path of insight and learning upon which I would otherwise never have set foot. It was a supreme catalyst for increasing my own higher consciousness.
Through my experience, I have learned to focus on the direct correlation of the mind, body and one's health. I believe that every thought and emotion has a direct effect on the health and well-being of one's physical body.
Thanks for taking the time to visit! I look forward to sharing my insights and spiritual messages with you in the days and months to come.
For now, let me leave you with my first Dr. Bev'ism:
"I believe in me. Therefore, anything is possible."
Namaste.
